Margot Robbie and her first Oscar nomination

The nominees for the 90th Academy Awards were announced this Tuesday by Girls Trip's Tiffany Haddish and War for the Planet of Apes's Andy Serkis. Among the list, there was Australian fashion beauty Margot Robbie with her first Oscar nomination and we couldn't be more proud.

If we think about it, with her 27 years, this girl already has the ABC drama series Pan Am and leading roles in the romantic drama Focus, the action - adventure film The Legend of Tarzan and the superhero film Suicide Squad behind her, and co-starred with Leondardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese's biographical black comedy The Wolf of Wall Street.

The latest project, I Tonya is definitely her precious one. Not only that it earned her the Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in Motion Picture in Musical/Comedy and SAG Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Leading Role, but also the most prestigious one, Academy Award.

The movie is about Tonya Harding, the first American woman to perform a triple axel in competition, but is remembered as intense competitor who didn't come forward when she learned her husband and his friend had physically assaulted her competitor, Nancy Kerrigan back in 1994. The film makes a point to establish these characters with honest, believable personalities and you find yourself growing attached to them despite their glaring flaws as human beings.

Filled with intense and very realistic domestic violence, Steve Rogers, the screenwriter, doesn't justify Tonya. She doesn't feel sorry for herself; it's just her life and it's presented as factual rather than soap operatic. This is real life. It's horrifying, it's funny, it's absurd. And the mean character basically says at the end of the film, " S--t happends. Deal with it."

So, let's all say thank you to this amazing cast, especially to Robbie, for making this story so good and comfortable to watch.

And as for me, as a thank you, here are some of my favourite looks of Margo through years. (And go see this movie, won't regret it!)

P. S. Do you have any favourites in the Oscar race? :)
